I don't think he meant literally. It's a nonlinear filter, so it adds harmonics itself and thus can't be turned into a plain sine wave. Unless you inverse a perfectly gain matched chebyshev partialIt creates a triangle for me from a square wave

I think he just means it moves closer to a sine wave than not
Edit: "sine like", it would've been easier to read if written "sine-like"
