The thing is this kinda defeats the point of this plugin. With shaken percussion instruments, each hit sounds a bit different depending on whether the shake was forwards or back (or left vs. right for tambourines). A single hit also sounds different from a sequence of hits, etc. When you program whole patterns into the internal sequencer, it has awareness of the whole sequence and chooses samples appropriately. That's why the sequences end up sounding relatively realistic compared to piecing together individual one-shots.
You can indeed play single hits by setting up sequences with single hits in it, like Tonycore said. Occassionally I have done that on like, the "seeds" or "gunguru" instruments when I just wanted a single hit here and there. But continuous tambourine or shaker patterns I would always use the internal sequencer. Generally I'm kind of allergic to sequencers in drum plugins (my daw has a sequencer already, right?) but this one is the exception for me for the above reasons.
