Wow, somehow just seeing this loooong after it was posted.Would be great to know some details about the Console 1 and Console 2 algorithms, love the sound of them! Are they specific emulations, or just creatively tuned saturation?We at Surreal Machines are watching this thread and happy to answer any questions.
They are not based on any specific hardware, but the result of looking at a a bunch of samples that we have accumulated over the years and approximating a few of the most commonly found shapes.
Console 1 is "based" on a parabolic nonlinear shaper with oversampling
Console 2 is "based" on a sine-ish nonlinear shaper with oversampling
