Ah ok thanks. So outside of app store most desktop au plugins still auv2 then? Sorry for OT. Looking forward to trying reverside.AUv2 is the well-used and longstanding .component plugin architecture. Nothing has changed with that, afaik, and it does support ARM on Apple silicon as long as the dev has recompiled for it. Apple still hasn't officially deprecated AUv2.I thought AUs were now auv3? At least the Apple silicone ones. Are there auv2 and auv3 still that are Apple silicone compatible?
The next generation is AUv3, which originated on iOS and mostly can be found with apps there. A small minority of plugins you buy from the app store support desktop installs and run as AUv3. A developer can cross-compile AUv3 to support Mac, but not all do. Mostly has to do with convergence of iOS and MacOS, and AUv3 is still largely irrelevant outside of apps you buy from the App Store, although a few DAWs already support it.
